While it’s not as wild as the all-new Mercedes-AMG C63, the C450 AMG 4Matic is an aggressive step up from the base model, packing 362 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6.

That power output makes the C450 AMG 4Matic good for 4.9-second runs to 60 mph and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
As the 4Matic in the name suggests, this AMG sport model features full-time all-wheel drive, delivered in a 33:67 front:rear torque split for increased rear-biased dynamics while retaining the forward-tractive advantages of driven front wheels.
Gear changes are handled by the 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission already familiar to AMG aficionados, and featured in the all-new GLE63 S AMG.
In the words of Mercedes-AMG board of management chair Tobias Moers, “With the C450 AMG we present the second sporty and emotionally expressive vehicle in our product line. It combines the power of a strong twin-turbo V6 engine with a high level of emotional expressiveness, and avails itself of the technical DNA of the new C63. The new sports models represent a convincing proposition for our customers: sports car technology and motor racing fascination become more attainable and in the process appeal to a broader customer base."

The exterior wears several unique AMG-inspired elements, including a tweaked front bumper with larger air intakes, new trim in silver and matte silver, a spoiler on the trunk lid, and glass-black details around the radiator, mirror housings, and window frame, plus chrome-plated dual tailpipe outlets. An optional Night package replaces much of the silver and chrome with gloss black elements.
Inside, the C450 AMG 4Matic features MB-Tex/Dinamica upholstery for the look and feel of leather with greater durability; aluminum trim, red contrast stitching, and an AMG-specific instrument cluster design bring the AMG sport message home.
Other standard equipment with the new C450 AMG 4Matic includes: Sport seats and pedals; 3-spoke Nappa leather steering wheel with flat bottom; and many of Mercedes’ advanced safety systems, including Adaptive Brake, Attention Assist, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, and ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist. Performance seats with a lower seating position, carbon fiber trim accents, unique alloy wheels, and other AMG-specific upgrades are also available.
Available safety and semi-autonomous driving extras include Histrionic Plus with Steering Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and more.
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG 4Matic will hit the U.S. market in the fall of 2015.
