The hottest new sedan from Cadillac is almost here: the order books for the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V are now open.

While we’ll have to wait another month or so to get our hands on one (and shake it around by the scruff of the neck), those looking to purchase their own ATS-V can now get a place in line.

The order books are open, with dealers offering the 455-horsepower, 445-pound-foot rear-drive beastie from a starting price of $61,460 for the sedan and $63,660 for the coupe.

For those looking to use an online configurator to spec out their ATS-V before ordering, the wait will be a bit longer: that won’t be possible until April.

With the new CTS-V due to arrive above the ATS-V in size and power, Cadillac says it has focused on making the smaller ATS-V “lightweight, agile and potent.” With 3.9-second 0-60 mph times and a top speed of 189 mph, the ATS-V certainly fits the bill as quick, and features like no-lift shifting, launch control, and active rev matching from six-speed manual (or a Performance Algorithm Shift eight-speed auto with paddle shifters).

Other key features of the ATS-V include the third-generation of magnetic ride control, similar to that found on the Corvette Stingray; Brembo brake systems; a standard carbon fiber hood; and an optional positive downforce track aerodynamics package.
