While the sixth-generation Mustang has been in showrooms for the past couple of months, the Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] only started shipping the convertible version this week. The convertible is available in base, EcoBoost and GT Premium trim but isn’t being offered in regular GT or track-focused Shelby GT350 spec.

In general, you’ll need to pay a $5,500 premium for the convertible option on the 2015 Mustang, which means the base Mustang Convertible is priced from $29,925; the Mustang EcoBoost Convertible from $31,495; and the Mustang GT Premium Convertible from $42,425. All prices include an $825 destination charge.

As the car is being delivered just as winter approaches, you’ll be happy to know that heated seats, selectable drive modes with a snow/wet setting, and remote start are available on the new Mustang. With that last feature, you can fire up the engine and heat the cabin of your Mustang before even leaving the house.

Production of the full Mustang range takes place at Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan. For more on the car, be sure to read our first drive report.
