Welcome to the latest installment of This Week’s Top Photos. Over the past few days, we saw several exciting vehicles make headlines and many of these are yet to be officially announced.

The first is a prototype for a new high-performance Lamborghini Aventador variant, which many, including us, are predicting to be the new ‘Super Veloce’ version of the Italian supercar.

This image is just one of many and shows the prototype undergoing some high-speed tests on Germany’s Nürburgring circuit.

It’s too early to determine just exactly what upgrades the new Aventador SV will be packing, though past SV variants like the Murcielago LP670-4 SV suggest we’ll be seeing more power, improved aerodynamics and a lighter curb weight.

Some aerodynamic mods can clearly be seen on this prototype, though it’s not clear yet whether these are production pieces or just temporary units used for testing.

The Aventador LP 720-4 50° Anniversario model is already dishing up 710 horsepower and the Aventador-based Veneno is making 740 horsepower. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the Aventador SV make something close to 800 horses in order to close the gap between the Lambo’s performance and the stratospheric levels claimed by the likes of Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche for their respective flagships.

Yes, the feeling behind the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is about as insane as the way the car looks. We were fortunate enough to spend some time in the hot seat at France's Circuit Paul Ricard and discovered that no amount of time is enough behind the wheel of this beast--it's that good.

If you want an equally-insane vehicle as the Mercedes but with more than two seats, may we suggest the Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV? Yes, it is exactly what it looks like: a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor pickup with an SUV body.

This beauty is the Aston Martin CC100 concept, which is based on the chassis of a V12 Vantage and built as a tribute to Aston’s centenary this year. While the striking concept isn’t destined for production, it previews the future styling direction of Aston Martin’s next generation of cars.

Another concept that hints at future styling direction is the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe. As its name suggests, the concept is a luxurious coupe designed by BMW and Pininfarina. While we’d love to see it spawn a new 8-Series, we’re more likely to see the Gran Lusso Coupe influence the look of the next BMW 7-Series and other high-end BMW models.

We hate to say it, but the air in Beijing really is as hazy as what you see in this photo taken during a recent drive of the 2014 Bentley Flying Spur in the Chinese capital. Thankfully, inside the car, it’s all luxury.
