With press days for the 2013 Detroit Show now over, boy do we have a lot of top photos to bring you this week.

We’re sure photos of cars like the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, the BMW 4-Series Coupe concept and the updated Acura NSX concept are still fresh in your mind, but there were some other standout vehicles in Detroit worth another look at.

Then there were the all-out surprises, such as VL Automotive’s Destino, based on the Fisker Karma, the Audi RS 7 and the Ford Atlas pickup truck concept.

If you missed our coverage of the show, you can always visit our dedicated show hub for the complete list of stories. We’ll be adding a host of new video posts there over the next couple of days too.

One of our personal favorite vehicles at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show was the new Lincoln MKC concept. Built to preview a new model from the American luxury brand, it’s hard to imagine that this stylish compact crossover is based on a humble Ford Escape.

Its muscular flanks, aggressive lines up front and Audi-ish rear all scream premium to us--in a way Lincoln desperately needs. We’d even go so far as to say the MKC could prove a decent rival to the Range Rover Evoque, should the production version due out later this year remain true to the lines of this concept.

One interesting element is the uninterrupted rear-view appearance highlighted by the full-width tail-lights. This is made possible by a two-piece liftgate design with a side-view cutline--a Lincoln first. Also worth mentioning is the panoramic glass roof running the length of the vehicle, which is quickly becoming one of the brand’s signature elements.

VL-Automotive Destino

VL-Automotive Destino

One of the big surprises at the show was the Destino from VL Automotive, an automotive startup backed by former GM exec Bob Lutz and entrepreneur Gilbert Villereal. Essentially a modern day coachbuilder, VL Automotive takes the stylish Fisker Karma, removes its electric drivetrain and drops in a 638-horsepower V-8 engine from the Corvette ZR1. You can have one too, as long as you have a spare $180k lying around.

Another surprise was this beauty, the 2014 Audi RS 7. Anyone lamenting Audi’s decision not to bring over its latest generation of the RS 6 needn’t be sad anymore, as the RS 7, which arrives in showrooms later this year as a 2014 model, features the same drivetrain.

Ford tuner extraordinaire Shelby American had a couple of interesting vehicles on show in Detroit. One was its new Shelby Focus ST, which hasn't received any power upgrades just yet but will very soon. The other was this Shelby GT500 Super Snake fitted with a wide-body kit. The best part is that the kit is designed to fit any Ford Mustang going back to the 2005 model year.

BMW’s next-generation of its 3-Series Coupe, the rebranded 4-Series, looks set to be one of the most popular coupes in the luxury segment. This concept version, which closely resembles the production version due out this year, looks impressive in these photos and even better in person.

Ford Atlas Concept

The styling of the 2015 Ford F-150, the next-generation of America’s top-selling vehicle, looks to be in safe hands, at least, if the Ford Atlas concept is anything to go by. The handsome pickup truck’s lines are a nice evolution of the current model’s styling, but there’s also a ton of technology packed into this vehicle as well.

One of the most highly-anticipated cars of the next few years is the new Acura NSX, the second generation of the Japanese supercar. It was previewed in updated form in Detroit this week, and we have to admit it’s really starting to grow on us. The surfaces have been cleaned up and now look more streamlined--it’s clear Acura engineers have been conducting some wind-tunnel tests.

There was no way we were going to finish off this post without at least one photo of the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, so here’s one showing the car in a color you’ve probably not seen much of. It’s hard to encapsulate how good the C7 looks in person so all we’re going to say is go out there and see it for yourself. If you can’t make it to one of the major auto shows, look forward to seeing the new Corvette in showrooms in the third quarter of the year.

That's it for this week. And if for some reason you aren't already following Motor Authority, we highly recommend you look us up on Twitter and Facebook after you subscribe to our YouTube channel.
