2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG teaser
We’ve already confirmed that the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG will be appearing next week at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto but now here is an official teaser revealing some of the vehicle’s front-end details.
We can clearly see oversized square-shaped intakes, which are new to the ML63 design language and very similar in design to the intakes on the BMW X5 M and X6 M performance SUVs. The headlights also have their own detailing and there is a prominent row of LED lights integrated into the front bumper.
So what else will the AMG treatment entail for the latest M-Class? We expect it to get the newest twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8 AMG powerplant, generating about 518 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, just as it does in the 2012 E63 AMG. An optional performance package could turn the wick up to 550 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed Speedshift MCT transmission is expected to handle the shifts, with power being sent to all four wheels.
