The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show; every year it stirs fans and non-fans alike with outrageously designed custom vehicles and the best that the multi-billion dollar aftermarket accessories industry has to offer. Held annually in Las Vegas, SEMA has grown to become one of the major events on the auto show calendar and consistently attracts its fair share of the major international automakers.

We’re already seen highlights from the likes of Hyundai and Chevrolet and now Ford is giving us a taste of what it will have on offer, namely, the all-new 2011 Ford Explorer. There are three different design goals for the Explorers at SEMA--Luxurious, Adventurous and Urban--each catering towards different types of buyers.

An Explorer customized by Funkmaster Flex and Team Baurtwell shows off the urban appeal of the new SUV, and comes standard with three-piece 24 inch forged billet wheels, Baer brakes, Katzkin two-tone leather seats and a Sony Xplod stereo system.

Another Explorer concept, designed by Galpin Auto Sports (GAS), goes for the luxury angle with 24 inch wheels, leather and suede trim and a pop-up iPad.

Finally, there’s the Adventurous model by CGS Performance. This model only gets 22 inch wheels but comes with a cat-back exhaust and plenty of built-in video screens.

The Explorers will take to the Ford stand along with customized versions of the Ford Taurus SHO, Edge and Fusion Sport, as well as the all-new Lincoln MKX. This year’s SEMA kicks off on November 2. In the meantime, hit the following page to get a more detailed description of the other project vehicles Ford will be showcasing at the Las Vegas event.
