Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman confirmed today in Frankfurt that 20 Sesto Elemento supercars will be built. Unfortunately, all 20 are already spoken for, but such is the way of the extreme upper echelon of the car world.

The Sesto Elemento is almost entirely built of carbon fiber, powered by a familiar 5.2-liter Gallardo V-10, capable of reaching 60 mph in under 2.5 seconds, and weighs just 2,200 pounds. It's also a hyper-limited-edition, likely hand-built example of exotica.

The concept was first unveiled last fall at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. Shortly after, rumors of its potential for limited production began to circulate. Dealers even listed the car in incoming inventory, according to reports. Today's official confirmation puts an end to the speculation, but we don't think we'll be satisfied until we see one in the wild--and that may take a long, long time.
