2011 Lincoln MKT

2011 Lincoln MKT

A little over two months ago we reported that future Lincolns would be packed with technology and feature an understated luxury look similar to Audi models.

Some of the planned features previously reported include adjustable suspension, advanced infotainment and telematics and improved quality levels across the board.

However, apart from those tantalizing revelations, few other details were mentioned.

Now, following a special presentation of some of Lincoln’s future models, more details are starting to seep out.

Not only will future Lincolns receive unique sheet metal and powertrains, they will also come with niceties such as push button shifting controls for the transmission, just like you’ll find in an Aston Martin or Maserati.

There will also be massive glass roofs, which can be slid out of the way for open-air driving, as well as the aforementioned adaptive suspension, and optional all-wheel drive across the board.

Unfortunately for readers outside North America, the Lincoln brand doesn’t have any global expansion plans just yet, but that may change in the longer term.

Look out for the first of these future Lincolns in the form of an MKZ concept car, which will reportedly debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January.
