Hennessey Chevrolet Camaro

Thought Hennessey’s LS9-packing 700 horsepower HPE700 was as extreme as Camaro tuning got? Think again because the Texan tuner is at it again and now offering mega 1,000 horsepower upgrades for the Chevy pony car.

Called the HPE1000, the heart of Hennessey's latest kit is a 7.0-liter LSX V-8 engine with a pair of turbochargers bolted on. Peak output is a Bugatti Veyron rivaling 1,000 horsepower and 900 pound-feet of torque, all of which is channeled through a twin-disc clutch six-speed manual or a reinforced automatic before ending up at the rear wheels.

Virtually every component under the Camaro’s hood has been changed, with the list including forged aluminum pistons, a forged steel crank and connecting-rods, a custom camshaft, high-flow cylinder heads, upgraded fuel injectors, dual wastegates, dual intercoolers, a boost controller, a pair of K&N air filters, and a three inch exhaust system.

Customers can also add 15 inch carbon-ceramic brakes, light weight HRE wheels and Michelin PS2 tires. In addition to these power and handling upgrades, Hennessey is also offering an exterior aerodynamics package to improve downforce at high speed.

All of this sounds quite expensive so thankfully the entire package is covered by a one year, 12,000 mile warranty.
