Final output for the 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan has been confirmed at 306 hp (228kW) from the next generation of the VQ-series 3.5-litre V6. This is a significant leap over the previous model’s more modest 280hp, which should make for an extremely spirited drive in the new luxury sedan. With cars like the humble Toyota Avalon now putting out some serious performance numbers, Nissan was forced to lift the bar.

You can expect the new G35 coupe to go on sale next year but as a 2008 model. Power levels are expected to be similar to the current model, but rumour has it that a new model known as the G37 may be released with a bigger and more powerful engine. Styling is expected to be very similar to the concept model shown at last year's North American International Auto Show.
