Toyota is claiming the latest iQ is production ready but the final version will feature some slight differences, namely under the bonnet. There’s been no official announcement for a future powertrain but reports coming out of Japan claim the car will be fitted with a three-cylinder 1.0L petrol engine and a diesel version may eventually be offered as well.
The new iQ will enter production at the end of the year and will be manufactured in Japan, starting with only 100,000 vehicles annually. The car measures just under 3m in length and has been designed to seat just three adult passengers and one small child.
