Spy Shots: 2007 Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG?

Images of a lightly disguised CL coupe have turned up, which feature many of the trademark signs of an AMG model. With the smaller CL63 already released, there isn’t much that Mercedes needs to hide, so it was rather surprising to images of another CL test mule. The large quad exhaust pipes, blacked out grille and front bumper suggests that this is a performance model.

The CL65 is a given, and considering that Mercedes is likely to drop the CL55; this car is most likely the CL65 AMG. There’s also the possibility that the car is actually the lower spec AMG Edition series, which feature subtle changes to the bodykit and wheels. Either way, expect the new CL65 to feature Mercedes’ new seven-speed gearbox and output more than the current 604hp from the turbo V12.
