Why should I also consider these?

It seems that Infiniti is on to something with its way-small crossover.

While the Lexus RX 350, Acura RDX, and BMW X3 have all been around for years, each is larger and more "traditional" in their SUV-ness.

The EX35 is much more compact and streamlined than any other available SUV or crossover.

Following the EX into the market in 2009 will be two new entries, one each from Mercedes-Benz and Audi: the GLK and the Q5.

Existing or yet to come, each of these competitors is (or will be) attractive on some plane, but the EX35 will remain the most sedanlike premium crossover out there.

2009 Audi Q5
The 2009 Audi Q5 sports the sleek lines of a sweet German sedan, a date-worthy cabin, and good, hefty, but gimmicky handling.

2009 Lexus RX 350
The 2009 Lexus RX 350 is a well-liked, competitive utility vehicle that has everything but personality.

2008 Acura RDX
The 2008 Acura RDX gets its edge from turbo power and crisp handling, but it can feel a little nervous and cramped.

2008 BMW X3
The 2008 BMW X3 gets much-needed improvements to its ride and its interior, but it's still more rugged--though not as refined--as the Acura RDX.
