The Kizashi has dimensions that are closer to many of today's larger compact sedans like the Chevrolet Cruze, Volkswagen Jetta, and Ford Focus, yet it has a slightly more mature, internationally flavored sport-sedan feel that hints that--with the right mindset--the Kizashi could be a substitute for a used Audi A4 or Acura TSX.
The Kizashi doesn't rival the level of tech in the new Ford Focus, but it has a somewhat heftier, more secure feel on the road.
Compared to the Chevrolet Cruze, the Kizashi feels more sophisticated and sporty.
And while, the Kizashi no doubt found some influence from the last VW Jetta, the latest Jetta ends up looking a little cheaper inside than the Suzuki, in an odd twist--the result of aggressive cost-cutting and repricing at VW.
The Kizashi with all-wheel drive feels considerably firmer and sportier than the new Subaru Legacy, which comes with standard all-wheel drive.
And the Kia Optima and Forte sedans are both alternatives worth considering; they also have a surprisingly strong level of style and standard features for the money.
