Scion has been on sale in the United States since 2003 but only now has Toyota confirmed the youth brand for the Canadian market. Set to launch north of the border in 2010... October 20, 2008 by Viknesh Vijayenthiran
The xD sometimes gets lost in the field of subcompacts, and it's probably not going to get any better in 2012, now that three very good new entries have joined the class.
Returning to the fold are the Honda Fit, which has excellent interior room and the flexible "Magic Seat" rear seats, though not much handling fun.
Ford's Fiesta is all about quick steering and an eager driving feel--and SYNC-driven controls--but back-seat space is minimal in either sedan or hatchback form.
The new entries here include the excellent Chevy Sonic, a class leader with the optional turbocharged four-cylinder, with great road feel and good passenger space.
There's also the duo from Korea: the Kia Rio is the more European-looking of the pair, with a little less room than the similar Hyundai Accent, but identical 40-mpg highway EPA ratings and very smooth powertrain performance that ups their small-car game rather dramatically.
