Both the Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia offer a similar truck-based configuration, but amp up the macho design cues, both inside and out.
Compared to the Tahoe, the Armada has lower fuel economy ratings and doesn't feel as refined; meanwhile, the Sequoia doesn't ride as well.
The primary rival for the Tahoe is the Ford Expedition; the Ford's engine has power and torque numbers that are close to those of the Chevy, yet it doesn't feel as quick.
Some would argue that the Expedition rides and handles a bit better in its base form, though.
The Expedition is due to get an engine upgrade—some form of Ford's new 5.0-liter V-8—within the next year, so at that time it may have an advantage over the GM utes.
Against the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, the most direct rival is probably the Mercedes-Benz GL350 BlueTec, which gets great real-world fuel economy, performs and tows well, and breaks past the old noisy, sooty diesel impressions.
