2011 Volvo S60 Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...I used to question if the operation of electronics were enough to sell a car or disqualify it from shoppers' consideration, but that's now clearly the case. The German luxury brands' poor reliability ratings over the past decade were influenced highly by their multifunction controllers. A steep learning curve and poor overall ergonomics — not just glitches and bugs — were a problem. (They have since improved.) Consumer Reports recently revoked recommendations for the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX specifically because of their MyFord and MyLincoln Touch electronics. Safety The S60 has... |

2012 Volvo S60 OverviewSource: CarGurus...The T6 additionally offers the available Touring Chassis for a smoother ride and the Four-C Active Chassis with a semi-active suspension that features three driver-selectable ride modes: Comfort, Sport and Advanced. Standalone options offered with both trims include, besides upgraded wheels and exterior accents, rear-seat DVD entertainment, an integrated hard-drive-based navigation system, wood interior cabin inlays and a personal car communications system allowing the driver remote operation of various accessories. Traditionally safety-minded, Volvo delivers both S60 trims with standard... |

2011 Volvo S60 Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The S60 has covered cupholders in the front and rear seats. Anytime you can disguise a mess, it's a good thing. In the back, the cupholders are in the armrest so they are easily accessible by the kids. Speaking of kids, mine liked the S60. They liked the roominess and the color, of course. More than that, they're like their mom and they love the speed. Turbo makes kids happy; I highly recommend it. Adults fit well in the back, too, which was a great aspect of the S60. It looks small, but it can carry people comfortably. IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS THAT COUNT Storage Compartments (Puny, Fair... |

2011 Volvo S60, KBB Professional ReviewSource: Kelley Blue Book...if necessary, apply the car's full braking power to avoid a potentially fatal collision. Pedestrian Detection isn't the only high-tech safety feature the new S60 offers either. Driver Alert Control helps determine if the driver is too tired or too distracted to control the car properly, and Blind Spot Information System helps you avoid colliding with vehicles that are beside you but in your blind spots. The S60 also offers niceties like adaptive cruise control, parking sensors and a rear park-assist camera. The top-of-the-line 12-speaker audio system features a digital 5x130-watt amplifier... |

Under the Hood At launch, the S60 will be powered by a 300-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder, but more engines could be offered in the future. This engine teams with a six-speed automatic transmission and drives all four wheels through the S60's all-wheel-drive system. Volvo's Four-C... |

With the Volvo S60 T6, Volvo is begging a comparison to BMW's 300-hp 335i sedan, as well as the 333-hp Audi S4.
Both engines--especially the BMW unit--are a little more immediate in their power delivery, although the new T6 R-Design sharpens the Volvo's responses so that it's close.
In terms of handling, the 3-Series remains the champ, although the S60 is both capable and fun to drive.
The Acura TSX doesn't offer all-wheel drive, but new for last year was an Acura TSX V6 model that, although front-wheel drive, delivers satisfying performance and nimble handling.
Those seeking luxury over outright sportiness might prefer the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which this year introduces an all-new turbocharged four-cylinder engine (in the C250).
But of all there models, except maybe the TSX, the S60 offers the most usable passenger space in the back seat.
