2011 Nissan Juke — Flash DriveSource: MSN Autos...The steering has a good feel and the suspension is sophisticated for a compact car. The unique styling and sporty theme carry over to the interior, with a painted center console, bold gauges and a brow over the gauge cluster. The Juke is a practical compact with distinctive styling that is really fun to drive. – Mike MeredithIf you want a vehicle that stands out from the crowd — that's what the Juke is all about. I'm not a fan of the style, but its uniqueness will appeal to some buyers. Because of its large wheels, the Juke looks small, but inside it is surprisingly roomy. Cargo space is... |

2012 Nissan Juke Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...It's not all grim news from the interior. The cabin actually looks good with a simplicity of design that is refreshing. The gauges are simple, round and easy to read. The cloth-upholstered seats are comfortable and cradle the occupants in the event of speed, and there is a snazzy three-spoke steering wheel. My test car came with the standard six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo; it was nice to have such a low-tech entertainment experience. Yes, it was a bit old-school, but it was low stress. An auxiliary jack and Bluetooth connectivity are also standard. Options like upgraded speakers, a Rockford... |

2011 Nissan Juke Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...My test car also had optional heated front seats and a navigation system ($800). The rally-inspired design continues inside, with shiny accent pieces on the door and around the gearshift. The front seats are comfortable and bolstered to support the rally driver in you. If you have additional passengers in the back, you'll be pleased to know there's some legroom for them, but not a lot. The trunk space is about what you'd expect, if you're not expecting much. Warehouse club trips will likely require creative seat folding, so the 60/40-split folding backseat will help in that department. There... |

2012 Nissan Juke Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The aim is to get the most aerodynamically efficient body for the product sought, thereby further increasing fuel economy. Throw into that mix weight-reduction technology, such as the use of more plastics, composites and recyclable materials, and you get today’s mainstream automobiles — or, in the case of the 2012 Nissan Juke SL, an attempt to depart from the mainstream by challenging conventional perceptions of what a car should look like. That is both its glory and its failure. It looks like nothing most of us would want to drive today. It is a niche mobile. But even there, it... |

2011 Nissan Juke Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...That said, many will find the Juke's ride too harsh. All-wheel-drive models swap the front-drive model's semi-independent , torsion-beam rear suspension for a fully independent setup, but it delivered poorly cushioned response over riddled pavement. Get on the highway, and the chassis picks up nearly everything going on under the car: expansion joints, grooved pavement and more. Combine that with a lot of noise — road, wind, suspension — and the Juke is a fatiguing car to take on an interstate trip. It didn't need to be this way. Affordable hatchbacks, from the Mazda2 to the... |

2012 Nissan Juke Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The sole engine, a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, makes 188 horsepower and 177 pounds-feet of torque . Front-wheel drive trims about 200 pounds off the Juke's curb weight , which should translate to even better performance. That said, many will find the Juke's ride too harsh. Choosing competitors for the Juke is more psychology than marketing.
We think the Suzuki SX4 is close in size and mission, and the small and cheerful all-wheel-drive SX4 is reasonably capable--but it's also old, noisy, and not very well equipped.
The Honda Fit is way more flexible than the Juke, but it doesn't offer all-wheel drive and it doesn't have anything like the Juke’s street presence.
The Mazda3 handles very well, and has more practical packaging, but no all-wheel drive.
We'd say the Kia Soul captures some of the Juke's funky spirit without its objectionable weirdness, but the Soul isn't as grippy or as zippy as the Juke, though it's far more spacious and comfortable and even better equipped.
