...locks and keyless entry Standard cruise control Optional heated front seats Optional upgraded audio system Optional navigation system Under the Hood The four-cylinder gasoline engine shuts off when the vehicle comes to a stop to save gas. The electric motor provides some acceleration at low speeds; the gasoline engine kicks in when accelerating hard or for highway travel. The air-conditioning compressor is electric (rather than belt-driven) to save gas. This also means the air conditioner can blow in cold air even with the engine turned off. The Altima Hybrid achieves an estimated 35/33 mpg...

CarGurus' Review for 2011 nissan altima coupe

...Stiff competition doesn’t make things easy for Nissan's 2011 Altima Coupe, but it also does little to help itself.
Its base engine is underpowered and unrefined, the six-speed manual is vague and sloppy, and the sport suspension that comes with the 3.5 SR will rattle the change out of your cupholder.
Because of these limitations, there’s no good setup to choose with the Altima Coupe, and your best bet is to wait and see if Nissan is listening...

CarGurus' Review for 2011 nissan altima

...The 2011 Nissan Altima is in a tough position, forced to compete with the Accord, the Camry, the Fusion, and the Malibu.
While the Altima has enjoyed a near-perpetual third position amongst its colleagues, improvements to the Fusion and Malibu have begun to make the Altima feel even more dated than it already did.
With a redesign coming in 2013, you’d be smart to hold off and see what the competition is like two years hence...

2011 nissan altima Professional Edmunds Review

...In Edmunds performance testing, a 3.5 sedan went from zero to 60 mph in 7 seconds. The coupe with the CVT did the same sprint in 6.7 seconds; with the manual, it dropped to 6.5. EPA fuel economy is 20/27/23 mpg for the CVT and 18/27/21 mpg for the manual. Safety: Every Altima comes standard with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. In Edmunds brake testing, the Altima 3.5 with 17-inch wheels (regardless of body style) came to a stop from 60 mph in about 130 feet, a performance deemed average by our testing team. The Nissan Altima has...

2011 nissan altima hybrid Professional Edmunds Review
Source: Edmunds

...In performance testing, we clocked the Altima Hybrid from zero to 60 mph in an impressive 7.6 seconds, making it the quickest of the class. Safety: Standard safety equipment for the 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid includes antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags and front-seat active head restraints. The Nissan Altima Hybrid has not been rated using the government's new, more strenuous 2011 crash testing procedures. According to 2010 ratings (which aren't directly comparable to the new methodology) it earned the highest...

Why should I also consider these?

There's really something for everyone in the thickly populated field of mid-size sedans, but you have to examine your priorities.

The Ford Fusion is one of the sportier-driving mid-size sedans and has great handling; it's also well-built and offers impressive fuel economy in four-cylinder form.

What's more, its Hybrid version is offered in all 50 states and boasts 41 mpg on the highway.

Most shoppers in this class place some prominence on interior space, and for that the best vehicles are the Accord, Sonata, Opima, and Camry.

The freshly redesigned Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima are standouts in this class, with roomy interiors, impressive refinement, and excellent fuel economy.

But the Camry's interior is a bit bland and feels cheap in execution.

For safety, the Accord stands on top (it's an IIHS Top Safety Pick).

However, against any of these models, the Altima comes across as well rounded and sporty.

Versus the Nissan Altima Coupe, the only formidable rival is the Honda Accord Coupe; comparing the two, the Accord Coupe feels less sporty—it's more of a luxurious freeway cruiser, while the Altima Coupe is a little more cramped and less refined, but friskier-feeling.

2011 Ford Fusion
The 2011 Ford Fusion comes in a few finely developed flavors; Sport, Hybrid and base are a few of the best tastes.

2011 Honda Accord Sedan
Though the 2011 Honda Accord is missing Bluetooth connectivity on the more affordable trims, it’s a very compelling package otherwise, with top-notch refinement, performance, and comfort.

2011 Hyundai Sonata
The 2011 Hyundai Sonata takes some smart styling and performance risks to raise its profile.

2011 Kia Optima
Kia simply gets it; basic doesn't have to be boring, and the 2011 Kia Optima shows that mid-size sedan shoppers don't have to settle to design boredom or a lack of features.

2011 Toyota Camry
The 2011 Toyota Camry isn’t at the leading edge in any way, but it remains one of the smartest mid-size sedan picks.
