2010 mercedes-benz e-class Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...The E63 AMG has a 6.2-liter V8 that pumps out 518 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. It's coupled to a sport-tuned seven-speed automatic with a paddle-shift manual mode. According to Mercedes, the E63 will go from zero to 60 in 4.4 seconds, which is stunning for a large, four-door vehicle. Safety: The E-Class comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags, front pelvic airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver knee airbag. Also standard is Attention Assist (a driver drowsiness and alerting monitor) and PreSafe (it anticipates an imminent crash and... |

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...Though we all like the Comand multimedia-control menus (standard, but without a navigation system ),the controller itself is much better-executed in Mercedes' flagship S-Class, where your hand rests naturally on the knob. In my E-Class coupe, it was so far back that I found it uncomfortable to operate; it all but required me to elbow my passenger in the ribs. People who don't have chimpanzee arms tend to sit closer to the steering wheel, so they have no advantage. Other ergonomic quirks include the turn-signal stalk, which Mercedes has mounted lower than normal on the steering column for more... |

2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 — Flash DriveSource: MSN Autos...Power is not exceptional - I would prefer the E550 with its powerful V8 - but fuel economy from the V6 is reasonable, delivering more than 20 mpg. The E-Class coupe is unique in the market, and while I like the look, my practical side would prefer the usability of the sedan over the 2-door model. –Perry SternThis new E350 coupe replaces the aging CLK coupe in Mercedes-Benz lineup. Combining sleek styling, high-tech electronics and a comfortable ride, this new Benz has been refreshed in all the right areas. The venerable V6 powerplant is used once again in the E350, which delivers spirited... |

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...But longitudinally, decade by decade, no other company has the technological chops, the brand poetry, the routine genius of Mercedes-Benz. Because of scheduling problems here at the Mercedes-Benz mothership, the only E-class I could wrangle was a E250 CDI, with a sewing-machine smooth 2.2-liter turbodiesel under the hood, one of a suite of diesel engines M-B has branded "BlueEfficiency." And not without cause. The E250 CDI is an astonishing piece of machinery that gets about 44 mpg while generating -- get this -- 369 pound-feet of torque at 1,600 rpm. Rommel had whole mechanized divisions... |

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The optional Harmon Kardon surround-sound stereo has inputs for an iPod or an MP3 player and it can hold 6 gigabytes of music. The navigation system has real-time traffic reports. A driver drowsiness monitor uses a steering sensor that is coupled to smart software that uses 70 parameters to establish a unique driver profile during the first 20 minutes of driving. If the system identifies the erratic steering corrections that drivers make as they begin to get drowsy, it triggers an audible warning and a "Time for a Rest?" message with a coffee cup icon in the instrument cluster... |

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...That's not a bad thing: What you have here is a compact frame stuffed with the guts of a big performance sedan. This is a taut, ferocious little luxury tourer, with excellent brakes, high-strung steering and engine torque that comes on like Man o' War in the final furlong: 391 pound-feet of torque between about 2,500 and 5,000 rpm. The E550 Coupe weighs 251 pounds less than the sedan. Combined with the highly dexterous seven-speed gearbox, the E550 Coupe will pass just about anything on the road. Simply kick down three gears, pull out the whip and start wailing. At these moments of... |

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...Trunk room is decent for luggage. There's even a first-aid kit along the wall. But as we've noted many times, having to pull off the road, stop, open the trunk and reach for help seems as unnecessarily time consuming as using the navi. Thankfully, rear seatbacks can be lowered to carry skis. The E350 starts at $48,050; the E550, at $54,650. For $50,000, we expect lots of amenities, and there are, from the traditional power windows/mirrors/locks/seats -- though, aren't 14 ways at least a dozen too many? -- plus climate control, power sunroof, pelvic/knee air bags and side curtains. But we also... |

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...If it does, it emits audible and visual warnings. Optional automatic high-beam headlights can vary their angle to illuminate 220 to 984 feet of pavement, depending on whether an onboard camera senses any cars ahead. Other options include blind-spot and lane departure warning systems, night vision assist with specific provisions to highlight pedestrians, and automatic emergency braking if forward radar detects an unheeded obstruction. E63 AMG Hot on the heels of Mercedes' launch of its new E-Class sedan, the automaker's high-performance division, AMG, has produced its own variant of the... |

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...A lot of cars these days have some form of ambient lighting — and many change color or have some other whiz-bang feature — but the subtle glow of this system is exactly what you'd expect in a refined luxury car. We also had a blind spot assist that lit up a section of the side mirrors and set off an alarm if you tried to move into a lane when a car was already there. This helped on the driver's side mirror, but I didn't need it for the passenger side, probably because of how I had my mirrors set. But a word about those mirrors: They have a chopped, angular shape that looks great, but I... |

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class lineup shares close quarters with its German compadres.
The Audi A6 lineup was refreshed for 2009 with direct-injection engines and a new front end, but it's halfway through its life cycle.
Wagon and all-wheel-drive versions are offered-similar to the BMW 5-Series lineup, which also includes the terrifyingly fast M5 sedan to tackle the Audi S6 and the Benz AMG editions.
Infiniti's M sedan is a suave counterpart from Japan, with a choice of six- and eight-cylinder engines, and rear- or all-wheel drive.
The shocking final option? The 2009 Hyundai Genesis, which has a high-$30,000 price tag, a fantastic interior, rear-drive power delivery, and a nearly 400-horsepower V-8.
Once Hyundai adds paddle shifters, sport suspension tuning, and body effects, it'll no doubt win more converts.
