2009 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The C-Class cabin is snug for four people. One of my long-legged friends commented that the back seat felt pretty tight. The deeply contoured front sports seats have electronically adjustable side bolsters and lumbar support. The side bolsters are so large they border on being confining, but their grip is most welcome when you tackle a winding road or dive into a freeway cloverleaf. It would be nice if the bottom cushion could be extended to suit different size drivers. The C63 gauges are stylish yet easy to read. The speedometer needle floats around the outside edge of the gauge while the... |

Flash Drive: 2009 Mercedes-Benz C300Source: MSN Autos...and the high-tech 7-speed automatic transmission keeps the engine in the power band almost all the time, with a fuel-economy rating of 20 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. The C300 moves up a step on the inside with nice-quality materials and a clean design that does exactly what this model is designed to do: make the occupants feel like they are in a higher model in the range. -Mike MeredithMercedes is making a big deal of the extensive engineering effort they've invested in creating the new C-class, but they've still not recovered the reputation for best-of-the-best luxury cars they once held... |

2009 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...One of the more interesting elements of the cabin is the motorized dashboard screen. It's stored behind a panel in the center of the dash, but at the touch of a button the panel backs away and a 7-inch screen rises from the dash. It looks like a miniature flat-panel television, and its high-quality graphics reinforce this impression. The screen is included with Mercedes' optional Comand system, which features a small multifunction dial in the center console that's used to control audio, navigation and other functions. The on-screen menu layout is why it's one of the more intuitive knob-based... |

Because of the two distinct models, the Sport and the Luxury, the 2009 Mercedes-Benz C-Class appeals to two types of buyers.
The Luxury model, with its expanded list of standard conveniences, trumps the base Lexus IS model with a better, more balanced driving experience and a quiet interior that allows more generous front seating.
The Sport takes a more pronounced turn toward edgier performance-oriented rivals like the 3-Series and G35 without forgetting its luxury base.
The Sport provides handling prowess that's nearly as satisfying as the 3-Series and G35, although its steering isn't as sharp as the Infiniti's.
The Audi A4 offers an especially frugal yet peppy base engine, a turbocharged four-cylinder in its 2.0T model, and the new 2009 A4 provides a sportier driving experience than before.
