2008 Mazda CX-9 Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...* Satellite radio, $430. * Navigation system, rear-view camera and power rear hatch, $2,500. * Shipping, $595. THE LOWDOWN Performance: The 3.5-liter V-6 is notably smooth and refined, with enough guts to make this hefty vehicle feel capable in traffic and relaxed on the highway. The six-speed automatic is flawless. Drivability: The suspension is firm but compliant, without a hint of harshness, yet stiff enough to make CX-9 seem nimble in urban driving. 2008 Mazda CX-9 Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...I took my medication and slept a bit. But more business in New York required my immediate return. I would've driven back in the CX-9 3.7. But there was a splendiferous 2008 Cadillac CTS4 sedan sitting in the driveway, and, well, that was that. No matter. My wife, Mary Anne, and my associate Ria Manglapus saw an opportunity, abandoned the rides they were in at the time, and drove the CX-9 3.7 700 miles in Virginia and environs. That surprised me. Mary Anne and Ria are at that stage in life where they have assigned minivans and similar family transports to the far corners of their memories. It... |

Beyond the 2008 Mazda CX-9, the range of available crossovers staggers the mind.
If size matters most to you, then consider any of the large crossovers from General Motors--they're the biggest.
But don't do so before driving the Mazda CX-9, which may reveal that size doesn't matter that much.
Style and price range remain big variables, so take the time to see and drive the Mazda in person.
Only then decide whether the CX-9's low $30,000 price is spot-on for you.
After a test drive, you may decide the 2008 Mazda CX-9 is really a less expensive alternative to an Acura MDX or BMW X5.
