2012 Lincoln MKZ OverviewSource: CarGurus...Fuel cutoff when decelerating and an auto-engine stop/start system combine with all of that to give the Hybrid EPA fuel mileage numbers of 41/36. The V6 provides plenty of power to get the 2012 Lincoln MKZ around, reviewers say. They find the Hybrid, as would be expected, not as perky, but also note that it does offer an efficient and quiet drive and the electric and gas motors work smoothly together. The 2012 Lincoln MKZ collects maybe its best marks from the experts after they open the doors and step inside the roomy and well-appointed interior. They find the MKZ not only comfortable, but... |

The MKZ Hybrid's drivetrain technology should look familiar, as the car is related to the Ford Fusion Hybrid, but a number of luxury touches are added. 2011 lincoln mkz Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...Fuel economy is also fairly impressive with an EPA-estimated 18 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined for the front-drive model and 17/24/19 with all-wheel drive. Safety: Standard safety features include stability and traction control, blind spot mirrors, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. The 2011 Lincoln MKZ also comes standard with Ford's programmable MyKey system, which allows parents to specify limits for vehicle speed and stereo volume for their teenage drivers. 2011 Lincoln MKZ Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...a roughly finished sunglasses holder and a sizable gap along the side of a storage-cubby door near the base of the center control panel stood out in the otherwise upscale cabin. MKZs come standard with leather-upholstered, heated-and-cooled front seats. The seats are supportive and offer a good driving position, but my own seat started to get a little sore when the drive stretched to a few hours. My back didn't have any complaints, though. The front of the cabin isn't the most spacious, and this is mainly because of the MKZ's low roofline, which limits headroom for taller occupants —... |

2006 Lincoln ZephyrSource: MSN Autos...Fairly Roomy Four tall adults have decent room in the leather-upholstered seats, but a long-legged passenger behind a tall driver with his seat shoved about halfway back will want more leg room. The rear seat's hard center is best left to the fold-down armrest, which contains dual cupholders. Doors have storage pockets, but they don't hold much. The glovebox isn't roomy, either. But the covered front console storage bin is fairly large, as are the dual front cupholders. Thankfully, the power windows don't race up and down when activated and can be easily stopped from going completely down or... |

2012 lincoln mkz Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...Power is sent to the front wheels via a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). EPA estimates stand at 41/36/39 mpg. Though we haven't tested an MKZ Hybrid, we did test the similar Ford Fusion Hybrid, which ran from zero to 60 mph in 8.7 seconds, which is reasonably quick for a hybrid. Safety: Standard safety features include antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags. The 2012 Lincoln MKZ also gets Ford's programmable MyKey system, which allows parents to specify limits for vehicle speed and stereo volume for their teenage... |

The Lincoln MKZ has some European and Asian competitors in sight, both hybrids and non-hybrids alike.
Lexus' HS 250h isn't as efficient as the MKZ and not as spacious, while the ES 350 isn't even as dynamic as the Lincoln, and has no hybrid counterpart.
The Buick Regal is more along the same lines, but has a special GS sport edition, and an eAssist model with improved gas mileage.
The latest Chrysler 300 has a 31-mpg highway rating for V-6 models, but it's substantially bigger and heavier than the MKZ, and a much crisper performer.
So is the Volvo S60, with its turbocharged editions and its available all-wheel drive.
