2008 Honda Odyssey Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The driver's seat is comfortable and sits high up, giving drivers a commanding view of the road. This SUV-like perch is common in minivans, but often leaves you feeling like you're sitting straight up, like a bus driver. That didn't happen in the Odyssey. Features The 2008 Odyssey has four trim levels, and they vary greatly in price. The base LX starts at $25,860 and comes standard with a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, an auxiliary jack for MP3 players, cruise control, remote entry, 16-inch tires with wheel covers and a CD player. Move up to the EX, at $28,960, and Honda adds steering-wheel... |

2008 Honda Odyssey Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The other two cupholders held the can steady but were difficult to reach. And I'm not sure why there's a folding table. The idea is that the table can be stored to allow travel to the rear of the vehicle, but when are you going to do that? If the car is moving, shouldn't you stay in your seat? If it's stopped, is it so difficult to use the door? Also, the table has to be cleared before it can be folded - how often is that going to happen? Well, it's not like the queen was listening to my complaints. Best to just move on. The 2008 Odyssey is really a remarkable family vehicle. Aside from a few... |

2008 Honda Odyssey Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...Also new this year, the Odyssey's audio system now comes with an auxiliary input jack so iPods or other portable music players can be directly attached. The compact-disc player has been updated to enable it to play music files that are in the MP3 and WMA formats. The Odyssey has 38.4 cubic feet of cargo space even with the third seat in place. But with that seat folded into the floor, cargo space expands to 91.1 cubic feet - with room for five passengers remaining in the first two rows. But to expand cargo space further, the second-row seats must be removed. Total Odyssey interior volume is... |

2008 Honda Odyssey Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...Two engines are available. The first is an all-aluminum, 3.5-liter V-6, which is standard on the base LX and midlevel EX models. It's rated at 244 horsepower and 240 foot-pounds of torque, and EPA ratings (using the more-realistic 2008 formula) are 16 miles per gallon in the city and 23 on the highway. EX-L (the "L" stands for leather) and Touring models come with a 3.5-liter aluminum V-6 engine with the variable cylinder system, rated at 241 horsepower and 242 foot-pounds of torque. This is the same engine offered in the redesigned '08 Accord. It automatically shuts down two or three of the... |

There are not many minivans, crossovers, or SUVs that drive as well as the sporty Mazda 5.
The 2008 Honda Odyssey comes close, even though it is a larger vehicle than the Mazda.
If you don't need the extra room or want a less expensive minivan, then the Mazda 5 is worth a test drive.
