CarGurus' Review for 2011 gmc acadiaSource: CarGurus
...The roomy, cargo-packing, zippy 2011 GMC Acadia bridges the gap between a delicate minivan and an over-muscled SUV quite nicely. |

2012 GMC Acadia OverviewSource: CarGurus...Denali, SLT1 and SLT2 trims can also add touchscreen navigation with rear-view camera and 3 months of XM NavTraffic (although a 3-month trial subscription to Sirius XM Satellite radio is standard for all trims). An available rear-seat entertainment package can install a DVD player with a remote, overhead display and wireless headphones. In addition, Bluetooth is available for the SL and standard in all other trims for hands-free phone use.The Denali trim seems to be one of the few question marks in the Acadia lineup. 2011 GMC Acadia Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...I was not so fond of the second-row DVD screen, which popped down from the ceiling and seriously obstructed my view. While this inconvenience is hard to avoid with entertainment systems in general, there are automakers that have successfully engineered solutions. I jumped for joy when I first saw the captain's chairs in the second row. In addition to providing easy access to the third row, these chairs also create an invisible barrier between my kids, making it harder for them to annoy/hit/smack/poke and/or spit on each other. A second-row bench is available. Second-row cupholders were... |

2012 GMC Acadia Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...As used by GMC, the term "Denali" doesn't mean performance. It's a luxury trim, so the ride is soft. At times on the highway, the Denali felt like it was floating along. The steering isn't vague, but it is light, both on the highway and in parking lots. None of these things are bad, but if you're the sort of driver who enjoys a more engaged driving experience, the Acadia Denali is likely to disappoint. Most luxury car shoppers, however, probably won't find anything objectionable about the Denali's road manners. Noise One thing those shoppers might find objectionable is the noise —... |

2012 GMC Acadia Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...Head-up display is a technology that seems to come and go. It's never caught on, but once you start to use it, however, it's extremely driver friendly. You don't take have to take your eyes off the road to see your speed or radio station because the information is projected onto the windshield as if it's being shown on the road. The Acadia Denali also comes with leather-wrapped steering wheel, wood trim and perforated leather seats that are both heated and cooled. Most features in the Acadia Denali come with the regular Acadia: big comfortable seats, optional captain's chairs in the second... |

The Acadia’s only direct competitor--other than its Chevy Traverse and Buick Enclave stablemates--is the Ford Flex, a crossover vehicle that optimizes passenger comfort and space inside a distinctively boxy body.
But if you're shopping the Acadia, we'd also recommend you take a look at the Mazda CX-9, the curvaceous companion to the Ford crossover and even a better performer, though it lacks some of the Flex's sexy high-tech features.
There's also the Honda Pilot, which gets a revamped cabin and a six-speed automatic for the new model year, and the Toyota Highlander, which has the least appealing handling of the bunch, but a vast interior, a flexible second-row seat with a hideaway cushion, and a companion hybrid model.
