2007 chrysler aspen Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...With either engine, you can expect gas mileage in the mid teens for city driving and high teens on the highway. Safety: All major safety equipment is standard on the 2007 Chrysler Aspen, including antilock disc brakes, three-row side curtain airbags and a stability control system with rollover avoidance logic and a trailer sway-control feature. Front-seat side airbags (that protect the torso) are not offered. Power-adjustable pedals are a stand-alone option, while rear parking sensors are only available as part of the 28J Package. In NHTSA frontal-impact crash tests, the Aspen earned a full... |

2007 Chrysler Aspen Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...which allows hands-free phone use through the car's speaker system; remote start capability, so I can startle people by firing up the engine of an empty car; and last but not least, side mirrors that tilt down when the Aspen is put into reverse. One understated, but much appreciated feature is the LED interior lighting. The inside of the car is bathed in bright white light each time I open the doors and is awesome for kids finding their buckle receptors at night. Now, I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't mention a few issues. My biggest complaint is that the navigation system and radio... |

2007 Chrysler Aspen Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...What impressed me most about driving the Aspen was it felt the least imposing of all the big rigs I have recently driven. There was no sense of diagonal weight flop rear to front when passing or when pushed into corners, and body roll was minimal. The optional Hemi in our test vehicle ($1,190 extra) was remarkably quiet when cruising at regular highway speeds, and it was a roaring energizer when required. On the outside, there's little to distinguish the Aspen from SUVs in its class -- it bulges and hulks. At least the egg crate grille sets it apart as a Chrysler, as do the sharp ridges... |

2007 Chrysler AspenSource: MSN Autos...The interior of the Aspen was quite quiet, save for wind noise around the windshield and the outside mirrors. Nice ride The test Aspen, a Limited model with two-wheel drive and the uplevel HEMI V8, rode smoothly and pleasantly on all manner of roads, with no jarring and no jolting. In fact, the Aspen does a great job of keeping rough stuff away from passengers. Chrysler officials used the underlying platform of the Dodge Durango as the foundation for the Aspen. Chrysler and Dodge are both brands of the Chrysler Group of automaker DaimlerChrysler. The HEMI had strong V8 sounds during... |

2007 Chrysler Aspen Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...Other options available include 20-inch tires and wheels (18-inchers are standard), a power sunroof, a rear-seat DVD player, leather upholstery and, for an extra $995, the Hemi. The total price of the test Aspen: $34,330. It is probably worth pointing out that the base-model 2007 Dodge Durango SXT starts at $27,025 including shipping, but add on the equipment that comes standard with the Aspen, and the difference would not be that dramatic. The Aspen has the expected safety equipment, including side-curtain air bags and stability control. On the road, the Aspen Limited rides smoothly, and... |

2007 Chrysler Aspen OverviewSource: CarGurus...The smaller V-8 produces 235 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. The Hemi will boost horsepower by 100 and torque by 70 lb-ft. Each engine is paired with the same 5-speed automatic transmission, and both are available with 2WD or AWD. The Aspen also offers a towing package, and when added along with the Hemi engine, this SUV can pull 8950 pounds. An optional low-range transfer case is available for off-road enthusiasts. Most of the Aspen's options are grouped together into packages. The premium offering is the 28J package, adding heated leather seats, Sirius Satellite, a Pioneer sound... |

2007 Chrysler Aspen Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The Aspen seats seven occupants in three rows, although an available third-row bench seat bumps capacity to eight. Middle-row seats can be ordered with two captain's chairs or a three-seat bench, both of which recline up to 11 degrees. They also fold flat, the latter in a 40/20/40 split. The third row is split 60/40. Folding both rows provides the maximum 102.4 cubic feet of cargo volume — a bit less than the Ford Expedition and Chevy Tahoe, which both have around 110 cubic feet. Under the Hood Two V-8 engines are available: a 4.7-liter that generates 235 horsepower and 300 pounds-feet of... |

Also offered are a power rear liftgate, remote start, and Sirius satellite radio. Standard safety features include electronic stability control with rollover mitigation, side-curtain air bags for all three rows of seating, and a tire-pressure monitoring system. The ParkSense rear back-up warning system is optional. Among safety and security features are electronic stability... |

2007 Chrysler Aspen Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...I would expect more from the styling department that gave us the Dodge Ram pickup, Chrysler 300 and PT Cruiser. INTERIOR: Rich and traditional, with comfortable seating for eight accented with faux wood trim, Aspen feels more like a luxury sedan than an SUV. The combined video controls for the audio system, climate control and navigation are cluttered and confusing, a common malady8 with these kinds of systems. The gauge cluster is bright and attractive, and the optional Alpine stereo speakers sounded terrific. BOTTOM LINE: A nice, well-equipped luxury ride that undercuts the competition in... |

2007 Chrysler Aspen Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...but why would I want a big, gas-slurping SUV when automakers are trying to downsize vehicles and produce more of those in-between-size crossovers? Good question. Chrysler's response is that its own market studies indicate that brand-loyal Chrysler buyers want a good-size SUV in the lineup. And the automaker says the Aspen's inspiration was the muscular, sizable Chrysler 300 sedan, a sales hit for the company. That explains, in part, why Chrysler is offering the Aspen with a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 (335 horsepower). Time will tell. Chrysler loyalists longing for a big SUV will probably be happy to... |
