2011 Chrysler 300C Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...Lavishly equipped from the get-go, the 300C comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, heated and cooled leather upholstery, and a USB/iPod-compatible stereo are standard. A panoramic moonroof is optional. Trunk volume measures 16.3 cubic feet, up from last year's 15.6 cubic feet. That puts the 300 over the Avalon (14.4 cubic feet), though it doesn't come close to the Taurus' mammoth 20.1-cubic-foot trunk. Under the Hood Chrysler's 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is standard. It makes 363 horsepower and 394 pounds-feet of torque; Chrysler recommends midgrade unleaded... |

2011 Chrysler 300C Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...By the numbers, backseat headroom and legroom are similar to the Avalon's — but the Toyota, in part thanks to its standard reclining rear seats, feels a lot roomier. As backseats go, the 300 is closer to the Taurus. Its 16.3 cubic-foot trunk is a slight improvement from before, and it trumps the Toyota's undersized compartment — but it falls short of Ford's mammoth confines. Safety, Features & Pricing Well over half the new 300's structure is made up of higher-strength steel than before, Chrysler says, and the results show. With top scores in front, side and rear impact crash... |

2011 Chrysler 300C Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...It's a wonderful engine, smooth and responsive and muscular. Both engines are mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, which has one or two fewer gears than most of the competitors' automatics have, but with the Hemi, five speeds are plenty. Fuel mileage for the Hemi is a mediocre 16 miles per gallon city driving, 25 mpg on the highway, and perhaps a new transmission that is reportedly on the way will help mileage a little. Chrysler recommends mid-grade 89 octane gas, but says 87 octane regular is OK. The V-6, rated at 18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, is happy on regular gas. It will also... |

There are few near-luxury, rear-drive sedans that compete with the Chrysler 300.
One of them is Chrysler's own Dodge Charger, which has much more muscular styling and lower price points, but much of the same running gear and available features.
The Hyundai Genesis is also rear-wheel drive; it doesn't offer an all-wheel-drive option, and in general its handling is tuned more softly than the Chryslers, and its styling is more generic.
Ford's Taurus is a bulky cruiser with optional AWD and a turbo SHO edition, but rear-seat room is compromised by the thick styling and the interior is less glamorous than the Chrysler's.
The Buick LaCrosse is a big, sleek four-door with a new eAssist mild-hybrid edition that gets up to 32 mpg on the highway.
Lastly, the Nissan Maxima has interesting looks, but its drivetrain is less engaging and its infotainment and safety features lag the rest of the class.
