2011 cadillac cts-v Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...In government frontal crash tests, the CTS earned four stars (out of a possible five) for the driver and five stars for front passenger protection. The CTS also received a five-star government rating for both front- and rear-seat passenger protection in side-impact crashes. Interior Design and Special Features: First, the bad news: The 2011 CTS-V's interior isn't much different from that of the regular CTS model. Now the good news: The CTS already sports one of the nicer passenger compartments in the segment. The overall look is high-class, with an attractive and functional layout for gauges... |

2011 cadillac cts-v wagon Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...Interior Design and Special Features: First, the bad news. The 2011 CTS-V's interior isn't much different from that of the regular CTS model. Now the good news: The CTS already sports one of the nicer passenger compartments in the segment. The overall look is high-class, with an attractive and functional layout for gauges and controls. Materials aren't the best in class, but they're generally high quality. The faux suede seat inserts and steering wheel/shift knob trim are an especially nice touch. The cabin's most significant shortcoming is a driving position that can be awkward for some, and... |

2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe OverviewSource: CarGurus...Though the handling gives up nothing to its more expensive competition in terms of cornering ability (the CTS-V delivers a face-stretching 0.92g on the skidpad), the overall feel falls just short of BMW’s world-class M3. Cadillac’s engineers have done a commendable job, but they are a bit hamstrung by the heavy engine (which contributes to a nose-heavy 54/46 weight distribution) and the slightly numb speed-sensitive power steering. The brakes, supplied by Italian specialist Brembo, are excellent and feature six-piston calipers that stop the CTS-V Coupe with confidence from any speed.The... |

Although the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V is closer in size to the BMW M5, Mercedes E63 AMG, and Audi S6, it competes with the slightly smaller Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and Audi S6.
Of them all, the C63 AMG has a driving feel that’s closest to that of the CTS-V—stout, though surprisingly crisp and responsive on the track—but with less power, the C63 isn’t quite as fast.
It's a close match for the Cadillac, though many would prefer the Merc's materials and finish quality over the American competition.
The BMW M5 can accelerate about as quickly as the CTS-V, but it’s about $25,000 more than the CTS-V and includes a complex set of electronic controls (M Drive) that can be overwhelming.
Another rival remains the Audi S6, which comes with a 435-horsepower, 5.2-liter V-10 engine and all-wheel drive; it’s a smooth, confident sport sedan with a lot of personality and a beautiful interior, but it’s just not as fast.
Jaguar’s XFR is another rival to the CTS-V, with a warm, classy interior and amazing straight-line acceleration, but it’s not as precise a handler or curve-carver.
Finally, the limited-production Lexus IS-F is a possibility, with a 416-horsepower V-8 and some serious track credentials.
Among all of these possibilities, only the CTS-V and M5 are offered with a manual gearbox.
