2008 audi rs 4 Professional Edmunds ReviewSource: Edmunds...During instrumented testing, an RS 4 sedan shot to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 13 seconds at 107 mph, which should be good enough to hang with the new M3 and C63 AMG. Safety: Stability control, antilock brakes, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are all standard on the 2008 Audi RS 4. (The Cabriolet doesn't have the curtains, though). Official crash tests have not been performed on the RS 4, but one could assume with fair confidence that its scores would be similar to the good ratings achieved by the regular A4 sedan. 2008 Audi RS 4 Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...The system sends 60 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels and 40 percent to the front, but can direct 100 percent of the power to the front or rear wheels when conditions warrant. One of the primary benefits of this setup is that it lets the RS 4 accelerate out of a corner like a rear-wheel-drive car; giving it some gas will bring the rear end around. Good, strong brakes are a must on a track like Road America, and the RS 4's weren't taxed at all during my hot lap; they felt like they could last all day. The Inside My test car's nearly all-black interior was quite a contrast from its... |

2008 Audi RS 4 Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...at first becomes a major hassle when you're fighting traffic or trying to drive and simultaneously open snacks (not that I would do that - I'm just making an assumption here). There is no option for an automatic transmission in this car - great for enthusiasts, not so practical for busy moms. Speaking of which, there's very little storage up front for the essentials, and clearly the vanity mirror was not exactly a priority for this car's designers (but enough about you, let's talk about me). Really, the Audi RS 4 is all about driving; it's not particularly conducive to the multitasking... |

2008 Audi RS 4 OverviewSource: CarGurus...For the RS 4, the center differential was changed from a viscous unit to the faster Torsen differential, with a 40/60 rear-biased torque split, as opposed to the typical Audi 50/50 split, yet the full 100% is available to either front or rear axles. In addition to the handling dynamics of a rear-wheel driver, the RS 4 also incorporates Audi's Dynamic Ride Control, in which the diagonally opposite (front right to rear left/front left to rear right) dampers are linked with a gas-charged reservoir. This fully mechanical system adjusts shock valving according to the carâ??s dynamic forces â??... |

2008 Audi RS 4 Professional Cars.com ReviewSource: Cars.com...DRC actively counters body roll with variable shock absorbers that automatically adjust for driving conditions. Standard all-wheel drive apportions more torque to the rear wheels for a driving experience that better mimics rear-wheel-drive cars. Interior Heavily bolstered front seats wear Nappa leather upholstery, while carbon fiber ps the dashboard and door panels. Selecting the Titanium Package brings a black headliner and piano-black trim. Standard equipment includes power front seats, a six-CD changer, dual-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof and heated front seats. Heated rear... |

The 2008 Audi RS4 competes in two arenas; against sedans, it's a head-to-head foe of the BMW M3, though priced much higher, and the new Lexus IS-F, also much cheaper.
The RS4 has the all-wheel-drive advantage, however.
Among convertibles, the Mercedes-Benz SL550 isn't quite as quick and it's only a two-seater, but it comes with a folding hardtop standard.
Jaguar's lovely XKR has scalding-hot power and a feline grace about it, as well as a fantastic six-speed automatic with paddle shifters and two very small, very unusable rear seats.
The V-10-powered BMW M6 convertible is even costlier and heftier, and it has a confusing array of interior controls.
