2010 Acura ZDX — Flash DriveSource: MSN Autos...Cargo space in the ZDX is pretty good when the seats are folded back. On the road, I achieved 18 mpg in mixed driving, which is acceptable given the high output of the engine. At almost $56,000, a fully loaded ZDX is the highest priced Acura today. Handling is more car than SUV-like. A dial in the dash lets you switch into a firmer sports mode for better reaction to wheel input in corners and turns, but at a cost of jiggling over uneven patches in the road. It compels you to charge into turns heavy on the gas — which it typically handles impressively, but probably isn't the safest way to drive. Vehicles whose weight distribution is more balanced than the ZDX's 57.7/42.3 percent (front/rear) — and/or that send more torque to the rear wheels at any speed — tend to transition more seamlessly into and out of high-speed curves. Why should I also consider these?
With its upscale price and features and its unusual blend of coupe and SUV, the 2010 Acura ZDX has few peers in the car world.
It's closest to the new BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo and BMW X6 in mission; the X6 has a higher pricetag and slightly more usable room than the ZDX, while the Gran Turismo has a very spacious backseat, a tall roofline, and a flexible cargo area that puts function first.
The Infiniti FX sport-ute possesses a jazzy style all its own, with tight rear seats and not much cargo space.
Best of all is the new Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon, a five-door hatchback with longer rear doors than the CTS sedan; it has good cargo space, very good rear-seat room and access, and a compelling shape that's distinct from its four-door cousin, along with an option for all-wheel drive.
