Possible S-Class convertible rendering

Mercedes Benz could be working on a convertible version of its S-Class saloon, and the car may even make a showing at the Detroit Motor Show in January. Car and Driver magazine has put up a possible rendering of the new convertible and mentioned that if it does go into production, it'll be in showrooms within 12 months time. Due to the size of the roof, Mercedes would likely go with a retractable rag-top rather than a folding metal roof and is likely to maintain the sedan’s four doors.

This follows from a previous article from Germany's Auto Motor und Sport that also reported that the new convertible would be at next year’s Detroit show. The article went further to report that the car will feature a 6.0L V12 engine and be more luxurious than the sedan.

It's been far too long since the world has had a production four-door convertible. I would expect that a Chrysler 300 Cabrio is not too far off, as well.

But haven't you heard that "the only person that looked good in the rear seats of a convertible was Hitler" :)
