The open-top version of Ferrari’s [NYSE:RACE] LaFerrari flagship makes its world debut on September 29 at the 2016 Paris auto show but photos of the car have already been released and now it’s been spotted in the wild.

The car will have a new name, confirmed in these shots from Ferrari Club España as LaFerrari Aperta.

The car is being filmed in an official video shoot and if you look closely you'll see "Aperta" on a placeholder for the license plate. Ferrari has used the Aperta appendage on a handful of its open-top specials, the most recent being the 458 Speciale Aperta.

There are some other changes, too. They include a cutout in the front fenders and a badge marking Ferrari's 70th anniversary next year. Of course, there's also the missing roof, which we're glad does not appear to harm the car’s looks in any way.

Performance shouldn’t be harmed either, since Ferrari made significant modifications to the LaFerrari chassis to ensure torsional rigidity and beam stiffness matches the coupe. The aerodynamics were also tweaked to make up for the missing roof, which may explain the new cutouts in the front fenders.

The LaFerrari Aperta will come with a removable panel that presumably needs to be stored back at home. A piece of fabric can be used temporally should the weather turn sour while en route.

No change is expected for the powertrain, in this case a hybrid system consisting of a 6.3-liter V-12, a pair of electric motors and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. One of the motors helps the V-12 power the rear wheels and recovers energy under braking, while the other spends most of its time as a generator, drawing its power from the V-12 and ensuring the batteries have a minimum level of charge. The combined output is an impressive 950 horsepower.
