We like the Chevrolet Camaro SS so much we named it the Motor Authority Best Car To Buy 2016. We cited value as one of the reasons we chose the Camaro SS as our best of 2016, but for 2017 it won't offer quite as much value. If ordering guides that have hit the web are any indication, the Camaro SS and the rest of the lineup will see a price bump for 2017.

The guides show a $605 increase from last year for every trim level, reports Cars Direct. That means that the least expensive 2017 Camaro will sticker for $27,300 including a mandatory destination charge. Opting for a droptop 2017 Camaro 1LT adds $7,000 to that price. The base SS model jumps to $37,900.

The guides also reveal pricing for the 50th Anniversary Edition package, which will be available on the 2LT and 2SS trim levels, the latter being the only V-8 option with the 50th package. Choose the 2LT and the package adds $2,595, and it requires selecting some other items as well. Step up to the 2SS and the package bumps the price up by a further $1,795.

Some highlights of the Camaro's 2017 pricing:

  • 1LT coupe: $27,300
  • 1LT V-6 coupe: $28,795
  • 2LT coupe: $31,400
  • 2LT V-6 coupe: $32,895
  • 1SS coupe: $37,900
  • 2SS coupe: $42,900
  • Convertibles add $7,000 across the board

We aren't sure just when the bowtie brand will announce pricing for the track-oriented 1LE and the downright ferocious ZL1 Camaros. We are certainly looking forward to driving these machines.

Look for the 2017 Camaros to hit dealer lots in late June or early July.
