Even as the Detroit Auto Show gets set to open to the public, Jeep is making more auto show news, only it's in Boston. At the New England International Auto Show today Jeep unveiled the new Cherokee Overland trim level.

The Overland is a premium model that sits atop the lineup with a price of $35,690. Like the Grand Cherokee Overland model, it combines some exterior upgrades with a long list of standard features.

Inside, the Overland features a leather-wrapped instrument panel, Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated and heated front seats with four-way power lumbar adjustment, a new Jeep steering wheel with Zebrano wood trim, bright door sill plates, Berber floor mats, and memory for the driver’s seat, radio, and exterior mirrors.

Communication and entertainment features consist of an Alpine audio system, the Uconnect 8.4AN AM/FM radio with 8.4-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth, navigation, HD radio, SiriusXM Travel Link, SiriusXM Traffic, and Uconnect Access Advantage. Access Advantage uses the vehicle's built-in connectivity to provide access to apps, 911 emergency assistance, vehicle health reports, voice texting, remote vehicle starting through your phone, and more. The Overland also adds more insulation to make it quieter.

Additional standard equipment includes blind spot monitoring with rear crosspath detection, rear backup assist, and a power liftgate.

The 4WD model also comes with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain traction control system with Auto, Snow, Sport, and Sand/Mud modes.

The new Jeep Cherokee Overland is slated to go on sale this spring.
