Cadillac’s new flagship sedan, the CT6, is set to go on sale next March, and we can confirm that the luxurious, full-size sedan will be priced from a very reasonable $54,490, including a $995 destination charge. That provides a healthy gap between the CT6 and smaller CTS, which starts at $46,340, and it makes it a bargain compared to some of Germany’s full-size sedans which typically start above $80k.

The starting price nets you a CT6 powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine good for 265 horsepower. This base model also comes with rear-wheel drive.

For $56,490, you get a CT6 equipped with a 335-hp 3.6-liter V-6 and all-wheel drive. And for $65,390, you get a CT6 equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 good for 400 hp. This model also features all-wheel drive. At the top of the range is a fully-loaded CT6 Platinum that will cost you $84,460. All prices mentioned include a $995 destination charge.

An eight-speed automatic is fitted as standard across the 2016 CT6 range, and eventually Cadillac will add a plug-in hybrid model to the lineup. This one has already been revealed with 335 hp and an electric-only range of approximately 37 miles.

Premium elements offered in the CT6, either as standard or available, include leather, exotic wood, and carbon fiber trim; a reclining rear seat with massage; a Panaray sound system from Bose with 34 speakers; and a host of electronic driver aids such as a traffic crawling, 360-degree view monitoring, night vision, a video-streaming rearview mirror, pedestrian collision mitigation systems, and a parking assistant.

Note, the CT6 won’t be Cadillac’s flagship for long. The automaker eventually plans to add an even larger, plusher sedan above it. And there could be a sporty model too.
