The Porsche 918 Spyder has been, arguably, the most successful of the new breed of hybrid hypercars, selling more than the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari combined. While its performance may, in some ways, be the lowest of the three, it’s nonetheless an incredibly impressive car.

But it has one flaw, at least: its radiator wiring harness. Or so it seems.

Porsche is recalling all 918 Spyders built, including the 223 vehicles that have been delivered to the U.S., for a small tweak that will prevent the electric wiring harness for a radiator fan from being abraded by a carbon fiber component.

According to Porsche, “The wiring harness will be examined and optimally remounted in the work shop.” The fix will be free to owners and should require the vehicle to be in the shop for just a half-day stay.

The issue came to Porsche’s attention after a number of inquiries, which the brand examined and determined to require corrective action. Affected owners will be contacted directly by Porsche Cars North America.
