Volvo is eager to get folks into its all-new 2016 XC90, as it serves as one of the automaker's most notable vehicles. If you want to buy one, you have to know how much you're going to spend, of course, and that information has finally been filtered out to the world. Get your checkbooks ready (do people still use those?) and set aside at least $49,895 (all prices mentioned include delivery).

That gets you into the base XC90, which is called the Momentum trim. It comes packing a 316-horsepower twincharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that sends its power out to all four wheels. Also, seeing as its a Volvo, it will come smartly equipped with the appropriate suite of up-market amenities.

If you are feeling a bit more spendy, you can jump up to the R-Design trim. This will cost you $53,895 and add a sharper appearance package all 'round. The grille is revised, the wheels are larger, and on the inside you'll find more sporting seats. At the top of the XC90 trim mountain sits the ultra-premium Inscription, which runs $55,495. Here you'll find 20-inch wheels, Nappa leather seating, and gorgeous LED lighting on the face of the vehicle.

Each version is powered by the same basic 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which sees induction aided by both a turbocharger and a supercharger. Additionally, each version weighs around 4,300 pounds and can tow 5,000 pounds. So if you're looking for a premium to luxury crossover that can tow your waverunners or small ski boat, start saving now. Further down the track a plug-in hybrid model will be available that boasts a 400-hp output (featured in video).
