Latvian firm Dartz has just revealed a new model for its Prombron brand, the Black Shark, which is based on the bones of the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class full-size SUV and is loaded with tech goodies. Like all Dartz vehicles, the Black Shark can be equipped with various levels of armor protection ranging up to ballistic level B7, and just 10 examples are planned for production, half of which are destined for the Chinese market alone.

The Black Shark is actually the first of Dartz’s next-generation line of vehicles called the PRVY. The PRVY line replaces the Kombat line, which was first shown as early as 1998 and probably best represents Dartz. Various versions of the Kombat have appeared in a number of movies over the years, such as The Dictator, Die Hard 5 and The November Man, making the firm known all over the globe.

Now the PRVY-based Black Shark has arrived, providing Dartz with a more modern and mature look. That doesn’t mean Dartz is becoming tame, as the company still offers a variety of animal skins (it appears whale penis is off the table, however) and power outputs ranging up to 1,500 horsepower.

Standard color options are limited to black, gold, gray, white or camouflage but buyers can also request custom jobs. One of the build slots for the Black Shark has already been claimed, with the owner requesting a Tiffany Blue exterior with Swarovski crystal embedded in the hood and tailgate.

If you want to know how much the Black Shark costs, Dartz says to pick a number and add six zeroes on the end. As the company’s owner Leonard F. Yankelovich explains, a Bugatti owner will feel “like a beggar” standing next to a Black Shark.
