The Cadillac XTS has only been on sale for one year, but that isn't stopping the wreath and crest from giving this luxury sedan some more power, technology, and luxury features for 2014.

Starting under the hood, there's a newly available twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 engine rated at 410 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Those two turbochargers are blowing 12 psi of boost, and maximum torque is produced from 1,900 rpm all the way up to 5,600 rpm. The twin-turbo models are distinguished by a unique grille and badging.

For those not looking to race to the country club there's still a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V-6 rated at 304 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque standard, and both engines are connected to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The turbocharged engine sends power to all four wheels while the base V-6 is front-wheel drive with all-wheel drive as an option.

Keeping the motion in the ocean under control is Cadillac's Magnetic Ride control, with electronically controlled shocks filled with magneto-rheological fluid. This setup can make changes to the suspension immediately for a controlled ride.

Inside the XTS now features even more luxury and comfort than before, with a revised rear-seat armrest with wood trim, radio controls, and sunshade control (when optioned). There's also a newly available opaque sunroof sunshade. Keeping the kids (or adults) entertained on those long highway journeys should be easier with the optional rear-seat entertainment system with twin DVD screens that fold out of the backs of the front seats.

For 2014 there's also new technology inside the XTS with Intellibeam headlamps that an automatically turn on and off the highbeams, along with adaptive front lighting as standard equipment on the Premium and Platinum models. All models also feature HID headlights and a capless fuel-filling system. Front-wheel-drive models offer Automatic Parking Assist, which enables the vehicle to parallel park itself, using the new electric power steering system.

The 2014 Cadillac XTS will go on sale later this summer and pricing will be announced closer to launch. For more information be sure to read our full review here as we get seat time.
