In addition to its gorgeous body, the car packs one of two potential powertrains, both of which develop more than 800 horsepower and feature some form of electrification.
The more potent of the two, the H-Turismo, features a traditional V-12 engine and uses an electric motor to synchronize its single-clutch automated gearbox for faster and smoother shifts.
Peak output of this model comes in at 950 horsepower, which Icona says is enough for a 0-62 mph time of less than 2.0 seconds.
The second powertrain is just as exciting. Called the H-Comptezione, this setup is tuned to deliver 870 horsepower and actually combines a turbocharged V-6 engine with two electric motors in a through-the-road hybrid setup. Peak output of this model is 870 horsepower, which still delivers 0-62 mph acceleration of just 2.9 seconds.
Interestingly enough, the technology is currently being tested in the chassis of an old Lancia 037 rally car--yes, the very one built in the early 1980s purely for the FIA Group B World Rally Championship.
