Paying homage to Viper Coupes of the past, the 2013 Viper GTS Launch Edition will make its public debut at the Quail Lodge as part of this weekend’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The GTS Blue with Bright White stripes coupe will be shown at the Quail Lodge on Friday, August 17, from 10:00 a. to 4:00 p.m.. On Saturday and Sunday, the car will be displayed on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The iconic Launch Edition paint scheme is a nod to previous generation Viper Coupes, introduced in 1996 and 2006. Destined to be the same kind of collectible model as earlier Coupes, the GTS Launch Edition will be built only during the first production run of the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit.

While there are no changes to the car’s 8.4-liter V-10 engine, rated at 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, Launch Edition models will come with polished, forged wheels; “Stryker” badging on a blue (instead of grey) background; a serialized dash plaque; black Laguna leather seats and interior trim; an Alcantara headliner and white instrument bezels finished in satin silver.

Of the Viper GTS Launch Edition, SRT head Ralph Gilles said, “...the 2013 SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition model brings back the classic paint schemes that have adorned all previous Viper coupe launches to help us celebrate the return of our brand’s flagship performance machine to the supercar market. Our American-built supercar showcases the very best we have to offer... .”
