The BMW Ring Taxi recently got an update to the F10 M5, but now a new car is offering rides around the Green Hell: the Jaguar XJ.

Outfitted with the Sport and Speed Pack options, the long-wheelbase Jaguar XJ Supersport packs 510-horsepower and a top speed of 174 mph.

The biggest XJ might seem like an odd choice for the Nordschleife, but that's precisely why Jaguar chose it.

According to Frank Klaas, the company's global communications chief, "[W]e found it's the XJ Supersport that most often surprises journalists with its speed simply because they perceive it to be a large luxury car. The XJ is both those things, of course, but its aluminium architecture means it's rigid and lightweight too, which make it a very good car on track. To underline that fact, our engineering team created this special Nürburgring taxi version in which our trained drivers can safely take passengers on very hot laps!"

A roll cage, four-point harnesses, four race seats, and a unique matte grey paint finish are the only thing that sets the look of the car apart from any other Sport Pack XJ LWB, but it's the experience inside the car, at speed, that we'd bet is the most memorable.

Jaguar hasn't released availability or pricing of the new high-speed taxi service.
