Mercedes-Benz’s all-new 2015 GLA-Class is set to go on sale this fall, priced from as little as $32,225 including a $925 destination charge. The entry-level model is a GLA250 with front-wheel drive. Should you require all-wheel drive, the price tag increases by $2,000 to $34,225.

Also available this fall will be the high-performance 2015 GLA45 AMG, which comes standard with all-wheel drive and will set you back at least $49,225, once again including $925 in shipping. That means pricing of the GLA45 AMG is right in line with that of the CLA45 AMG, our Best Car To Buy 2014 winner.

All 2015 GLAs, including the AMG, are powered by turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. The GLA250 models have a peak output of 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the GLA45 AMG has 355 hp and 332 lb-ft on tap. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is fitted as standard across the range. The 0-60 mph time in the GLA250 is approximately 7.1 seconds while in the GLA45 AMG it will take you just 4.8 seconds.

Inside the cabin, there’s a 5.8-inch display and Bluetooth audio streaming as standard. There is also a long list of options that includes a bigger 7-inch display, heated and adjustable seats, Harmon/Kardon premium sound and a driver assistance package with DISTRONIC PLUS adaptive cruise control and blind spot and lane keeping warning systems.

The GLA’s closest rival, the BMW X1, starts at $31,850 including $950 in shipping charges. This model also features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four as standard but comes with rear-wheel drive.
