Tiny electric cars of non-standard configuration appear to be all the rage at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show, with Audi and Volkswagen already whipping the sheets off their contenders. The latest entry is an as-yet-unnamed Vauxhall/Opel two-seat electric car with wheels placed more narrowly in the rear than the front and a futuristic pod-like exterior.

Beyond that, we don't know much, except that it will have a 60-mile range, run at speeds up to 75 mph, and be very inexpensive, as Vauxhall/Opel suggests it will be suitable for "those on a very tight budget." Whether it will really see production is another matter entirely, though the company says it has "potential."

We'll keep you posted on the full details as they're released, and bring you live photos and information from the floor of the Frankfurt Auto Show as the MotorAuthority team heads to Germany next week to take it by storm.
