The 2017 Lotus Evora 400 will go on sale later this year priced from $89,900. That’s a significant jump on pricing for the previous Evora, but the new model is a much more substantial car. In fact, it’s the fastest road car in Lotus history. It also doesn’t hurt that the Evora 400 comes loaded to the gills in standard specification.

The Evora 400 is a lightweight sports car with 2+2 seating and a mid-mounted V-6 delivering 400 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque. The engine is a supercharged version of a 3.5-liter V-6 sourced from Toyota, and in the Evora 400 is paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard. A paddle-shifted, six-speed automatic is available.
Other standard goodies include 14.6-inch carbon-ceramic brake discs from AP Racing, a limited-slip differential, automatic climate control, and a modern infotainment system with satellite navigation. Some worthy options include Alcantara and leather trim, light alloy wheels, painted brake calipers, and a Black Pack that dons selected exterior panels including the roof, side sills and center section of the three-element rear wing in gloss black. The Black Pack also adds a dark headliner in the cabin.

Owners can expect the Evora 400 to sprint from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds and keep accelerating until it maxes out at 186 mph. The car should also be considerably quicker around a track than the previous Evora, with Lotus pushing the car around its 2.2-mile Hethel test track six seconds faster than the previous Evora S in a time of 1:32.
Lotus has confirmed that the Evora 400 will be in showrooms by December of this year, as a 2017 model.
