Now that we’ve had a few days to absorb the controversial look of the new 2012 BMW 1-Series Hatchback’s styling, dare we say it, it's actually starting to grow on us--just a little. Over the course of the last couple of days, BMW has also released some promo videos for its latest 1-Series, giving us a preview of what the car will look like out on the road and the specific buyer type BMW is targeting.

The videos show off a lot more detail, especially what the car looks like from varying angles. This is especially true for the nose section of the car, which in images looks rather blunt and forced, whereas in the video we get a sense of its elongated design, reminiscent of a shark’s nose.

We’re sure the car will always have its critics and until we see it in person at this September’s 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, we will have to reserve full judgment.

As previously reported, the 2012 BMW 1-Series Hatchback is unlikely to be sold in the U.S. but the same styling treatment is almost certain to be applied to the next-generation BMW 1-Series Coupe and Convertible due next year.
