The 911 Carrera GTS hit the Web today and has some folks asking, "why not just get a GT3?" It's a fair question, for those that don't need a back seat or the comfort and convenience of the full Carrera treatment, but for those that do, this video shows the car off in its native environment: beautiful countryside.

The GT3's native environment is a track, of course, and while we're suckers for its plaintive howl, the slightly muted roar of the GTS is likely a better roadtrip companion. With a 3.8-liter flat six cranking out 408 horsepower through the rear wheels, there's every reason to skip the interstate and take the scenic route, as the driver in this video appears to be doing.

We'll have more on the 911 Carrera GTS live from the Paris auto show.
