One hundred and fifty four pounds. That's how much the latest Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera saves over the standard Gallardo. While it might not sound like much, it brings the total weight down to 2,954 pounds, which makes Lamborghini’s latest supercar as light as many compact cars on sale today.

The Superleggera, Italian for "lightweight", is a stripped-out race car built for the roads. Paired with 570 horsepower--an incredible 5.18 pounds per horsepower--the all-wheel-drive terror will shoot to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and on to 124 mph in 10.2 seconds with a top speed of 202 mph.

Without a doubt, the Superleggera is a car that was born for the track and perhaps it’s only here that one can truly experience its raw character.

However, for most of us mere mortals, driving a Superleggera will have to remain a dream. For the full details on how Lamborghini put the Gallardo on a diet, read our full article here.
