A brand new Infiniti M sedan is just around the corner and these are the first live shots of the car, which comes with a svelte new design, a range of powerful engines and increased interior space.

Until now we’ve only seen the car in computer generated images, but these live shots give us a much better indication of the overall proportions and stance out on the road. Clearly evident is the car’s styling connection with the stunning 2009 Infiniti Essence Concept, as well as its new coupe-like profile.

Along with the new styling is an upgraded powertrain: the new M37 and M37x get the corporate 3.7-liter V-6, which rates at about 330 horsepower in its other applications, though numbers haven't been put to this incarnation yet. Topping the range is the V-8-powered M56 and M56x, which sports a 5.6-liter V-8 with more than 400 horsepower on tap. All models will come standard with a seven-speed automatic as standard.

The new Infiniti M range will make its official debut at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show in December, ahead of its sales launch pegged for early next year.
